About Potly

Digitizing a tradition older than banking

Potly is the first platform purpose-built for group savings circles — bringing trust, accountability, and credit building to a practice that 30 million Americans already rely on.

Our Mission

Every community deserves financial infrastructure that works for them.

For generations, communities around the world have saved together through rotating savings circles — called Susu in West Africa, Tanda in Latin America, Cundina in Mexico, Hagbad in East Africa, and dozens of other names. These circles have helped families buy homes, start businesses, pay for education, and survive emergencies — all without banks, interest, or debt.

But the system has always been fragile. One person disappears, and the whole circle collapses. There is no accountability, no records, no protection, and no credit for the years of on-time payments. Potly changes that.

Our Values

What drives us

Trust First

Every feature we build starts with one question — does this make it easier to trust the people you save with?

Community Built

We are from the communities we serve. Susu, tanda, cundina — we grew up with it. We are not outsiders guessing. We are insiders building.

Radical Transparency

Every payment, every rotation, every score is visible to every member. No hidden fees, no surprises, no black boxes.

Financial Inclusion

We believe the 30 million Americans who save in circles deserve a platform that builds their credit, protects their money, and grows their wealth.

Founder & CEO

Houston, Texas

Ibrahim grew up watching savings circles work — and fail — in his community. He saw families lose money not because the tradition was broken but because there was nothing to hold it together when one person let everyone down. With over 12 years of experience in technology and financial services, including roles at JP Morgan and several fintech startups, Ibrahim founded Potly to give every savings circle the infrastructure it deserves.
